Even though Kino feels like an expensive place because of the design and interior, Pathé's tickets aren't cheaper. Pathé focuses on technical innovation, with special screenings in imax and dolby sound. These are pretty expensive. Kino focuses on maintaining older formats, such as 35mm and 70mm, and those are quite pricey ( € 16 for 70mm).

However, we estimated that most Kino visitors use a cineville pass. While observing we noticed that the line in front of the cineville booth is always longer than the ticket booth.
